Benoît Reiss

Born in 1976, he studied literature in Lyon and Paris, which led him to work in educational publishing before moving to Japan in 2007, where he taught French. Since 2017, he has been co-director of Cheyne éditeur. As an author, he published the novel Le Petit Veilleur in 2019 with Buchet Chastel, poetry with Cheyne, and narratives including O’Yu, a tribute to hot water, with Éditions Esperluète in 2021. For Sicilian Leather, the presence of Mount Etna envelops his story, setting the rhythm of a man’s life.
